The 53rd Earth Day & VSO’s Prospect of Carbon Neutrality

The origin of Earth Day can be traced back to the United States in 1969. An oil well near the coast of Santa Barbara, California blew out. 3 million gallons of oil spilled, causing the death of more than 10 thousand ocean creatures. United States Senator Gaylord Nelson and environmental advocate Denis Hayes inspired a crowd of 20 million people to go on the streets on the 22nd of April the next year, forming the first Earth Day in the world. Earth Day creates different subjects every year for the event to awaken human consciousness of environmental protection as well as support and demonstrate the important concepts of energy saving along with carbon reduction.
One of the key values of VSO is to take responsibility for earth protection with practical environment-friendly movements, which perfectly fits the concept created by Earth Day. To reduce carbon emissions released during energy conversion, low-carbon energy has been developed within our factories. The rooftop of factory buildings located in JiAn has been equipped with solar systems for electricity supply. It has been successfully providing over 21% of electricity for the entire site area since 2021. In addition, VSO went through inspections by SGS according to ISO 14064-3:2019 standard in 2022, yet earned the certification of ISO 14064-1:2018 for greenhouse gas reduction system verification in 2023.
To lower the environmental influence from manufacturing, we are dedicated to achieving our goal as a carbon-neutral company in near future; Other than upgrading policies, VSO will also continuously research and develop new products that could be applied to green energy, and clean energy or so.
