ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gas Verification Statement

2023.04.14

With the issue of climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions becoming an important and critical concern and topic of discussion among various sectors, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially announced the ISO 14064 series standards in 2006 as the basis for greenhouse gas inventory and verification methods. These standards provide enterprises with a set of tools to assess, monitor, report, and verify greenhouse gas management quantitatively.

The content of ISO 14064 is expected to guide organizations in constructing carbon inventories, carbon footprints, and carbon reduction capabilities to comprehensively identify greenhouse gas impacts and effectively suppress and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby reducing the impact of climate change on the environment and ecology. By effectively conducting greenhouse gas inventory calculations, reporting and registering reductions, and reporting the organization's carbon reduction performance, the organization can make concrete improvements in its environmental sustainability.

As a member of the global community, VSO understands the urgency and importance of energy conservation, carbon reduction, and environmental protection. In 2022, VSO underwent an audit conducted by a third-party agency (SGS) in accordance with the ISO 14064-3:2019 standard and met the requirements of ISO 14064-1:2018. In March 2023, VSO obtained the ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gas Inventory/Reduction System Verification Statement. VSO is committed to actively strengthening the responsibility of its sustainable environmental and environmental protection strategy blueprint, promoting environmental policies, energy management, clean energy, water resource management, waste management, green products, and other aspects to improve energy/resource use efficiency, reduce manufacturing impacts on the environment, and enhance VSO's resilience to sustainable issues.
